A NOTE FROM JESS

It has been a pleasure sharing the last 12 months with our clients, their families and our local communities. We have had many successes and many challenges come our way. I am so pleased to see that despite all these challenges, our families have leaned in to our support, as well as problem solved and found ways to continue to do, and be, the best they can for their family and communities.

I continue to be grateful and honored to have the privilege to sustain and build our Explore and Soar team to support our clients and families. Your ongoing support and value in our services is what allows us to keep going, as well as our passion and commitment to providing the best evidence based services for you!

As we finish the year of 2025 – Community for Wellbeing, we reflect on all we have achieved in our communities, providing parent support groups each month, online education seminars for all children transitioning to Kindergarten, our social group programs in the school holidays and our regular sponsorships within the local regions.

As we move into 2026, we are excited for what the year will hold for us. We look forward to continuing this journey with you in the new year. Wishing you all a restful and joyous holiday season!

Warm regards,
Jess and the Explore and Soar Team

CELEBRATING SUCCESS
Clients Achieving Their Goals and Soaring High!

We are so proud to share the success story of Mr Soar!

Mr Soar came with challenges at the beginning of the year with holding a conversation or to stay on topic for more than five minutes, and was lacking confidence in himself and his body.

Over the year, Mr Soar engaged in fortnightly OT in Term 1, Term 2 & Term 4, he took a break in Term 3. He also participated in our social group programs and completed two Tomatis auditory intervention programs.

Over this past year, with Mr Soar’s determination and ongoing support of his parents, he has achieved;

  • Holding conversations on preferred and non preferred topics for 20 minutes!
  • Writing a speech and presenting it for the school, and
  • Got a place in the school leadership council team

These  gains are a testament to the hard work of Mr Soar, his parents, and his therapist in working together to achieve these goals. We can’t wait to see how he continues to soar into 2026 and beyond!

HOLIDAY CRAFT IDEA:
Beaded Snowflakes!

Looking for a fun and calming holiday craft to do with your child? Try making a Beaded Snowflake! This simple craft is a great way to engage your child’s fine motor skills, making as many as you want and even a potential Christmas tree decoration!

Materials Needed:

  • Pipe cleaners
  • Colourful beads
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Cut the pipe cleaners in half
  2. You will need 3 of the halved pipe cleaners for each snowflake.
  3. Fold the small (halved) pipe cleaners in half,
  4. Twist two of them together on the bend, then twist the third small pipe cleaner around the first two. Making a snowflake.
  5. Now it’s time to add the beads – thread the beads onto each of the pipe cleaners in any pattern you would like.
  6. Once all the beads are on, wrap the end of each pip cleaner around the finger to curl it and stuff the end of the pipe cleaner into the hole of the last bead – creating a knot so the bead won’t come off.

We wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you for being part of the Explore and Soar family. We look forward to continuing our work with you and your children in 2026. Wishing you all a joyous and restful holiday season.
